More furniture shopping options are coming to Canton.
Art Van Furniture is planning to build a two-story, 80,000-square-foot store in Canton, this sis the biggest project of its kind in 13 years in Michigan for Art Van Furniture.
This is the first time that Art Van Furniture has built a ground up store since 2003. Art Van plans to build the new store on Ford Rd. in the heart of Canton’s business & shopping district, and on one of the busiest roads in the Canton area. The location will be across the road from one of it’s competitors IKEA, just west of Haggerty Rd.
The new Furniture store will take the place of the long standing vacant racquetball / fitness building, and the medical near the road frontage and, next to the new Black Rock restaurant. Canton Community Planners are looking forward to make room for this new building.
Construction is planned to start this year, with a targeted completion date of spring 2017, although the project plans still need final review and approval form the Canton Twp. officials.
